This week saw the beginning of an exciting new short course being offered by the School of Computing to pupils in local secondary schools in inner-city Dublin.
The course, titled Introduction to Games Development, is designed to teach transition year students the skills required to develop computer games based on their own ideas, inspiration, experience and imagination.
Participating pupils come from the following schools
- St Joseph's, Stanhope St
- Larkin Community College
- Mount Carmel
- Westland Row CBS
The course is delivered by School of Computing lecturers Ciarán O'Leary and Paul Kelly, with the voluntary help of tutors from second year of BSc Computer Science (DT228).
Support is provided by the DISC project and the DIT Community Links Office. Additional support is provided by GameStop.
