The School of Computing today announced that it has commissioned a new lab for computer science students studying Games Programming, Games Middleware, Graphics, Image Processing, Music Technology, Mobile Games, Digital Audio, Games Design and Mobile Robotics. The lab will be known as the "Creative Computing" lab and will have:
- HP Graphics workstations with NVidia Quadro graphics cards
- Mobile graphics workstations for loan to students working on projects
- XBOX 360 consoles
- Wii's and PS3's
- A 40" Plasma TV
- A smart whiteboard
- Surround sound digital speakers
- M-Audio MIDI keyboards
- A custom built robotics workstation
- State of the art mobile robotics kits
Work will shortly commence on the fitting out of the new lab, which will be ready for the coming academic term.
