Brendan Tierney

Brendan is a lecturer with the School of Computing, DIT.
Brendan obtained a Diploma in Applied Science and a BSc(Hons) in Applied Science at Dublin Institute of Technology in 1993. He completed his MSc. in DCU in 1998 and a Diploma in Applied Project Management from the Institute of Project Management of Ireland and University College Cork in 2001.
Brendan's main area of research is Distributed and Parallel Knowledge discovery, Semantic Data Representation and Data Visualisation. Currently his research topics include, using the Semantic Web in the distributed knowledge discovery process. He is a member of the Semantic Knowledge Management Research group and the Database Research Group in the Computer Science Department in DIT.
