Course Aims:

  • to prepare the student for commericial financial systems development and maintenance, giving each student the flexibility to adapt to both legacy style and modern systems development environments.

  • to give the student practical experience in developing and maintaining financial systems using different methods of data storage, code development and user interface development.

Course Objectives:

On completion of the course the student will:

  • be able to develop a modern system through COBOL

  • know the theory of information systems with emphasis on databse design

  • have experienced the development of a commerical system using a commerical database environment
