 Knowledge Systems Analysis and Design

The management of knowledge based projects presents different challenges to more traditional information systems project management. Knowledge management projects typically follow a different project lifecycle to conventional IS projects, reflecting the different level of knowledge of the system scope and requirements at the outset. A different took-kit is therefore required to tackle the inherently complex and uncertain nature of such projects.

This module will introduce students to the purpose, scope, techniques and tools for knowledge based project management.

The aim of this module is to provide students a solid background in knowledge based project management. It will introduce students to techniques and concepts for knowledge based project management with a focus on proper risk management in particular. It will provide an opportunity for students to gain practical experience of applying these techniques to plan and execute knowledge based projects.
