Knowledge
management makes knowledge within an organisation beneficially
tangible to the organisation by using appropriate information
technologies. This module introduces all aspects of knowledge
management many of which are explored in detail in other modules.
The module is structured into four sections:
-
Knowledge
-
Knowledge management fundamentals
-
Knowledge management processes
-
Knowledge management programme
The first two sections lay the groundwork for
the subsequent sections. They are focused on scope, concepts and
the positioning knowledge management within organisational and
information technology contexts. Section three examines in some
detail the processes necessary to support knowledge management and
how information technology can help. Finally section 4 explains
the nature and substance of a programme to achieve knowledge
management within an organisation. |
